Our story

Our kitchen uses the best Finnish ingredients of the season and combines them with Nikkei inspired techniques and flavours. Our menu includes tataki dishes and plenty of options to share or enjoy on your own. Our food philosophy is as approachable as the restaurant itself.

In summer, our customers enjoy the riverside terrace, but on cool evenings and rainy days we invite you indoors:

  • Takka-aitta (the Fireplace Granary) offers a warm atmosphere around an original fireplace – the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal in an authentic setting.

  • Suola-aitta (the Salt Granary), without a fireplace, charms with its airiness and historic atmosphere – perfect for groups who appreciate relaxed privacy, quiet conversation and an intimate dining experience with a view.

The Ranta-Aitta wakes up again for a new season on the banks of the Porvoo River. During the first weeks of spring, we serve delicious lunch on weekdays and à la carte at the beginning of the weekend in a relaxed riverside atmosphere.

Come and enjoy good food, spring light and the unique atmosphere of Ranta-Aita – alone, with friends or with the whole family.
