It will soon be 60 years since my first exhibition. Throughout my life I have experimented
with almost every technique related to art. After the first couple of decades, I fell in love
with watercolour and the many and varied challenges it presents. Whenever colour meets
water, the end result is fascinatingly surprising
I know that in my life I have never been able to create a watercolour that meets
my expectations, but I will try again. For the past three years, the brushes and paints have been
gathering dust in a drawer, never to be used again.
What happened? A new vision, a new desire, a new hope for the future. Now it’s real as the flowering butterflies
fly to the Aittas in Porvoo. Welcome to see my latest watercolour series My brush has not
yet been silenced. My daughter Kaisa Siven with her flower watercolours will also be part of the exhibition.
